The Timex Weekender has earned its place as one of the most recognizable casual watches on the market, prized for its no-fuss versatility and easygoing charm. Built around a simple, legible analog dial with clean hour markers and a slim seconds hand, it delivers classic field-watch styling without unnecessary embellishment. The brass case, typically finished in a matte or brushed tone, houses a reliable quartz movement that keeps consistent time without demanding much upkeep, making it a practical choice for everyday wear. Its face often includes a small Indiglo backlight feature, a signature Timex touch that illuminates the dial at the push of a button, adding a bit of everyday convenience to its straightforward design. What truly sets the Weekender apart is its interchangeable nylon slip-through strap, a hallmark of the model that allows wearers to easily swap colors and patterns to match their mood or outfit. This single-piece strap design threads through the case in a style reminiscent of military-issued watches, giving the Weekender an authentic, rugged aesthetic while remaining lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear. The straps come in a wide range of colors, from olive drab and navy to bold stripes and seasonal prints, letting the watch feel personal and adaptable without ever losing its core identity. This modularity has made it a favorite among those who like to switch up their look without buying a whole new watch. Affordable, sturdy, and effortlessly stylish, the Timex Weekender fits seamlessly into a casual wardrobe, whether paired with jeans and a t-shirt or worn under a rolled-up flannel sleeve. It's water-resistant enough for everyday splashes and light activity, though it's designed more for reliable daily wear than serious sport or diving use. The combination of simple design, dependable quartz accuracy, and the fun of customizable straps has kept the Weekender a staple in Timex's lineup for years, appealing to first-time watch buyers and seasoned collectors alike who want a low-maintenance piece that still carries plenty of character.
Customer reviews
I've owned this for two years and it just keeps ticking. The Indiglo light is a nice touch when I'm out camping at night. For the price, you really can't beat it.
Love the look and the strap swaps are super easy. Only complaint is the acrylic crystal picked up a few light scratches within the first month, but nothing that ruins the watch.
Bought this as my everyday watch for work and weekends. It's lightweight, doesn't feel bulky, and the price makes it easy to own a couple of colorways.
The watch itself works fine, but my nylon strap started fraying after about eight months of daily wear. Easy to replace though since it's a standard NATO size.
